Las vegas
Popping over to Vegas for a week next May, I cannot wait to go, never been before so any advice, off the beaten track ideas, also looking at the tour to LA for a day, I know it's a bit of a drive but can't pass up the opportunity.

Going with blokes or with the other half? They're 2 very different experiences.

Re: Las vegas
Visit the Grand Canyon and don't bother with the old town or any strip joints if with the lads.

You don't need them, as there are much better birds in all of the clubs anyway.

Place is superb.

Re: Las vegas
Going with my mate no birds involved at all.

Everybody will have their views on the hotel . Cosmo is good but I think the venetian is central and an all singing all dancing vegas hotel with big rooms , big casino and good club

Re: Las vegas
Really depends on what you like to do, there's plenty for everyone. For a first timer I'd say choose a center strip hotel, if you're staying on the strip that is. You'll thank me later for that. As for must do's besides whores and blow, go see a Cirque du Soleil show, those are pretty effing epic.

Re: Las vegas
I stayed in an absolute shit hole when I went, as it was only for 4 nights and I knew I would barely sleep, so didn't see the point of weighing out for a nice place seeing as I was just using it to store my bags.

Only slept on the first night and then done a straight 72 hours on it!

Done a week at The Wynn hotel last year, brilliant hotel.

Going out there next April, my mate is playing for a couple of bands at a rockabilly convention. A couple of my lot are 50 next year so we're going out there with him for 5 days.

Never been but I'm guessing it will be right up my boulevard

Re: Las vegas
I've booked the cheapest hotel possible Americas best value Inn, I would rather spend money on seeing the grand canyon, hoover dam and a flight to LA chucked on rather than sleep on comfy mattress. Once in a lifetime trip this one. Flying with Norwegian out of Copenhagen less than 350 quid and 70 quid return from Gatwick to Copenhagen. Trip all in costs under 500 quid. Not bad in my opinion. Got a few hours to kill in Copenhagen aswell, 2 places to cross off the world tour list.

Re: Las vegas
Too right Steve, as you won't give a shit about sleeping when there anyway.

If you pull a tart, it's back to her place ;o)

Re: Las vegas
Steve...

Let me know, I can get 20% off any MGM hotel.

Day trips in striking distance of Vegas are a bit few and far as it's 4 hours drive to LA, 5 hours to Phoenix.

Consider the national parks of Utah, Zion is something special.

There's so much to do here you'd need a month to do it all.
